Introduction

The book is organized into four principal parts. “Split-Selves & Fractured Karma,” written by Prof. Winston L. King, introduces Magness’s distinctive interpretation of Buddhist selfhood, karmic continuity, split-personality karma, psychic offshoots, and the creation of an integrated “parami-self” capable of liberation. “The Dhammakaya: Metaphysical Implications” explains Dhammakāya through the Aggañña Sutta, Abhidhamma categories, supramundane consciousness, meditative intensification, and the stages of stream-entry, once-returning, non-returning, and arahantship. “In Reply to Letters Received” clarifies doctrinal objections and expands the author’s position through responses to questions on consciousness, karma, individuality, and Buddhist metaphysics. “The Good Seed” develops the idea of karmic and spiritual potential, showing how wholesome causality, right practice, and meditative transformation may generate the conditions for higher realization and liberation.
