Introduction
The Lotus Sutra is one of the most influential scriptures of Mahāyāna Buddhism, presenting the doctrine of the One Vehicle (Ekayāna) and the universal potential for Buddhahood. Based on Kumārajīva’s renowned Chinese translation, this English version by Tsugunari Kubo and Akira Yuyama was published in the BDK English Tripiṭaka Series in 2007. It remains an important resource for the study of Mahāyāna thought, Buddhist practice, and East Asian Buddhist traditions.
