Introduction

The book is structured into seven chapters that move from metaphysical foundation to spiritual realization. The first chapter presents the basic theory of non-duality, examining the reality of the Self, the apparent nature of the world, the ego, death, rebirth, suffering, and the distinction between Heart and head. The second chapter turns from doctrine to practice, showing that intellectual understanding must mature into inner discipline. The third chapter addresses life in the world and explains how spiritual realization relates to action, duty, and daily existence. The fourth chapter discusses the Guru as the guiding presence that leads the seeker inward. The fifth chapter is devoted to Self-enquiry, the central method taught by Ramana Maharshi, in which the aspirant investigates the source of the “I”-thought. The sixth chapter considers other methods such as devotion, meditation, mantra, and surrender, while the final chapter describes the goal as abiding in the Self, beyond ego, bondage, and the illusion of separateness.
