Introduction

Volume VI continues the encyclopaedia’s systematic presentation of Buddhism across doctrinal, textual, historical, institutional, and cultural dimensions. Published in four fascicles, it covers entries from “Jarā” to “Minayeff, J. P.” and brings together scholarship on foundational Buddhist concepts, narrative literature, Abhidharma traditions, Sri Lankan chronicles and monasteries, religious figures, and modern Orientalist scholarship. Its integration of Pāli, Sanskrit, Chinese, and historical materials reflects the international and interdisciplinary scope of the Encyclopaedia of Buddhism.
