Visuddhajanavilāsinī nāma Apadānaṭṭhakathā (Paṭhamo bhāgo)

Ganthārambhakathā Introductory verses and prose paying homage to the Three Jewels and explaining the purpose of composing the commentary. Nidānakathā Presents the narrative background of the Apadāna through three major nidānas: remote, intermediate, and near background. 1. Dūrenidānakathā Explains the remote background, beginning with Sumedha and the long career of the Bodhisatta from the aspiration before Dīpaṅkara Buddha.
