Introduction

The Sutta Nipāta is one of the oldest collections preserved in the Pāli Canon and is widely regarded as containing some of the earliest strata of Buddhist teachings. Its verses emphasize renunciation, ethical conduct, meditation, wisdom, and liberation, while the Aṭṭhakavagga and Pārāyanavagga are particularly valued for their archaic language and profound philosophical insights.
